Miller Family

A couple weeks ago, the Millers and I spent a lovely spring evening together.  We visited some of my favorite spots and brought along the sweetest little peacock chair and a flower crown for little Ivy. We picked flowers, found treasures, and blew on dandelions. It was such a joy to spend the evening with this sweet family of three (almost four)!

Downer Maternity

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to take a little trip up to my favorite spot on Lookout Mountain with Paul and Rachel for a little maternity session! It was the loveliest early spring day. The light was golden and warm and perfect, and there were the sweetest pink blooms on the trees.  Craven's House has recently become one of my favorite places to shoot, and it was fun to see it in this new season for the first time.  I think spring has become my favorite season because it is a reminder of new life, change and growth. Spending an afternoon with these two and their growing baby girl was such a wonderful way to welcome spring!

Bathtime with Rhyken

A few months ago, I spent a weekend on Lookout Mountain with my very dearest friends, one of which happens to be a little squishy, smiley baby boy.  The house we stayed in has the most beautiful farm sink in one of the bathrooms and the minute I saw it, I knew it needed to be photographed.

I've loved watching my friend Rachel become a mom. My favorite part about these photos is that you can see just how much baby Rhy loves his sweet mama.

One day little Rhyken won't be so little and will probably be mortified that his Auntie Em took photos of him taking a bath, but for now it is just the sweetest.

Wilkinsons | Valentine's

Last weekend, I did my first ever mini sessions! I had so much fun shooting these little valentine's session and incorporating these gorgeous pink chairs from The Copper Quail!

This little family is one of my favorites to shoot. They are super photogenic, laid back, and happen to be good friends of mine.  I went to college with Matthew and it's such a wonderful thing to see friends fall in love and start a family. It makes me super happy and emotional, haha. Baby Mason is a little blue eyed heart breaker and did such a great job.  This was the first session that they brought their dogs along, and it added such a sweet element to these photos. Those puppies are their first babies, so it's super sweet to see them all together!

Diggs at The Preserve

While in Birmingham over the holidays, I was so excited to be able to take some photos for some of my dearest friends.  Rachel, David and Rhyken are pretty much the cutest in all the land.  Baby Rhy gave me all sorts of sweet smiles... Rachel and David did too.  We walked around the cute little shops at The Preserve on a warm winter day.  It was lovely.

Downtown Birmingham Senior Session

While I was home for Christmas, I spent an afternoon with my cousin Tori in Downtown Birmingham.  We walked down the cobblestone streets of Morris Ave, got coffee and tea at Revelator, found some fun murals, chased the sunset, and wandered around near the historic Alabama Theater.  It was a lovely, warm winter day and Tori posed like a pro which made for a wonderful afternoon.

The Coopers at Cravens House

Goodness gracious, this little family is so cute. My favorite thing is photographing families over the years.  This is my third fall session with the Cooper family and it just gets better and better. This year they added another red headed beauty, which added a whole new level of cuteness. We wandered around my favorite old abandoned house, snuggled up on the perfect yellow sofa from The Copper Quail, and celebrated the Cubs World Series victory.

Christmas Tree Farm with the Wilkinsons

I can't get over how cute these friends of mine are.

It's hard to believe that it was four months ago that I took these maternity photos of the Wilkinsons, and now sweet baby Mason is here! Mason was a little model baby, giving me all sorts of smiles and sweet faces.  It was cold and a little rainy, but he was such a trooper! We spent an afternoon snuggled up in blankets, wandering through the trees, and having an all together good time at Kittle Christmas Tree Farm!

Bakers at Fletcher Park

The Bakers and I spent a chilly fall morning in Cleveland at Fletcher Park! The wind was freezing, but the leaves were so bright and beautiful, it was all worth it.  We took a leisurely walk through the part, soaked in the sunshine, played in with some toy trucks, and found the dreamiest light around. It was a lovely morning with the sweetest family.

Schlabs on Lookout

The Schlabs and I spent the evening up on Lookout Mountain at Craven's House.  This is one of my favorite spots in Chattanooga. There's something so whimsical and lovely about the old green and white house that sits next to Craven's House, and there are so many colors and textures up there that make it feel like a magical little spot.  We played in the leaves, did a little dancing, and giggled a lot. These guys are the sweetest and it was a joy to capture their love for each other.

Fall Family Fun

On the first real fall feeling morning this year, this sweet family and I ventured up to Signal Point Park for a little fall fun! We played in the leaves, found a magical little trail, and enjoyed the stunning views.  There's so much love and kindness in this family.  What a joy to capture it!

This October has been one of fullest, and sweetest months of my life.  I launched this new website, spent a weekend working on a brand new wedding photography collaboration with my friend Aletheia (more on this later!), visited my husband's family in Murfreesboro, was visited by Callie (my most kindred of spirits), spent a weekend on Lookout Mountain with my four besties (who are more like sisters than friends), took lots of photos, and spent a few days with my family here in Chattanooga. All of this happened while working two different (super wonderful and flexible) jobs, editing photos, and spending as many little moments with my hubby as possible.  It was as overwhelming as it sounds, but even more sweet than you can imagine.  I'm as equally happy that I can settle back in to a normal rhythm as I am sad that it is all over.  Here are a few photos from this month.

(these photos were mostly a pass the camera around kind of situation, so these were edited by me, but some were taken by Debi Blaising, Joanne Gulledge, Whitney Blaising, and Aletheia Cyr)

Youngs at the Apple Orchard

This past weekend, the Youngs and I took a little trip up Signal Mountain to the sweetest little apple orchard! While we couldn't actually pick any apples, we had the best time wandering around the orchard, crunching through the leaves, and playing on big rocks! This sweet family has stuck with me from the beginning of this little business of mine, and I couldn't be more thankful. They are the sweetest, have the most beautiful brown-eyed, blond-headed babies, and are super committed to getting genuine smiles from their kids (I'm talking jumping up and down and making animal sounds kind of commitment). It doesn't get much better than this, friends.

Beises Downtown

I'm pretty sure if there was a contest for the world's most photogenic family, these guys would win.  They are the sweetest little family and we had the best time!  We started out in a little wooded area outside of their downtown home. They wore flower crowns and giggled atop a pink floral quilt.  Then we all piled in the car and took the short drive down main street to the loveliest polka dot wall I could ever imagine. They sang songs from Hamilton, jumped into mom and dad's arms from tall ledges, and reminded the world to "Be Awesome." It was practically a dream!

Baby Oakley

Hey friends, meet baby Oakley! He's the sweetest little guy with a head full of hair and the most adoring parents.  Over the years, I've taken engagement, post wedding, and one year anniversary photos for Oakley's parents. Capturing the three of them in the first couple weeks of their life together has been by far the sweetest of all. I love these people and I've loved watching them grow.
